Confederate States - John H. Vest
Private John H. Vest served in the 1st Virginia Regiment Artillery,CSA. Yes they carried them too! With no room on the cassions, necessity dictated that knapsacks were carried.
Pack measures 15 1/2 by 15 by 3 , Brown leather used throughout. Leather front flap , iron buckles with brass and iron fasteners. Note the unusual use of an tin formed topcap on frame. No attatchments for blanketroll used. Design does not call for cheststrap , a removeable one can be included if so desired.
