North
Carolina Import Variant
By late 1862 the Confederacy was importing cut
leather pieces for belts, gun slings, cap pouches,
knapsacks etc. as well as the hardware ,buckles, and
cartridge box tins so the various Confederate arsenals could
produce copies of the imported goods from S.Isaac &Campbell
and other suppliers. This pack follows the actual pattern
of the Imported style but varies in certain assembly techniques
and attachment systems which leads to the speculation that it
could be a Confederate copy.
The original is in the North Carolina Museum----http://collections,
